## From the vendor

N-able Managed EDR is a managed detection and response service from N-able for MSPs that want a SOC team behind the endpoint agent they already run through N-central or N-sight, rather than staffing their own analysts. It wraps 24/7/365 monitoring, event triage, threat investigation, containment and response around N-able's own EDR agent, which N-able builds on SentinelOne technology and markets as covering Windows, macOS and Linux endpoints. N-able's analysts isolate endpoints and terminate malicious processes directly, combining automated containment with human review, and the top EDR Complete licence adds proactive threat hunting on top of the core monitoring and response. N-able Managed EDR suits MSPs already standardised on N-able's N-central or N-sight RMM, since Managed EDR is delivered as an add-on to N-able's own EDR rather than as a standalone agent for a mixed estate, and it is not built to manage third-party EDR tools. It suits shops that want a named SOC to call rather than a self-serve console, and that are prepared to buy on a quote rather than compare a published price list. N-able does not publish pricing for Managed EDR; the product page routes to a sales conversation or a demo booking rather than a self-service trial or free tier (checked September 2026). N-central and N-sight, the platforms Managed EDR runs through, integrate with PSA tools including ConnectWise PSA, Autotask and HaloPSA for ticket sync, and with documentation tools including IT Glue and Hudu, though these are integrations of the RMM layer rather than of Managed EDR itself. N-able is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, and has been independent since its 2021 spin-off from SolarWinds; it also owns a separate, Adlumin-branded MDR and XDR line following its November 2024 acquisition of Adlumin, so MSPs comparing N-able's security options should confirm on a call whether Managed EDR or the Adlumin service is the better fit, and check current per-endpoint terms and contract length before signing, since none of that is published.

## Our take

N-able Managed EDR makes most sense if you are already running N-central or N-sight and want a SOC wrapped around the EDR agent you already have, rather than adding a separate security vendor. Because N-able also sells a distinct Adlumin-branded MDR and XDR line since its 2024 acquisition, ask on the sales call which of the two N-able is actually proposing and why, since the names overlap in ways that are easy to confuse. Compare it against Huntress or Sophos MDR if you want a lighter-weight, RMM-agnostic managed service, and get the per-endpoint price, minimum term and what counts as an 'EDR Complete' licence in writing before you buy, since none of it is published.

## FAQ

### How much does N-able Managed EDR cost?

N-able Managed EDR does not publish a list price. No MSP price reports have been approved yet.

### Does N-able Managed EDR offer a free trial?

N-able Managed EDR does not offer a free trial. There is no free version.

### What does N-able Managed EDR integrate with?

N-able Managed EDR lists integrations with N-able N-central, N-able N-sight RMM, ConnectWise PSA, Autotask, HaloPSA and IT Glue.

### What integrates with N-able Managed EDR?

N-able N-sight RMM lists an integration with N-able Managed EDR.

### Is N-able Managed EDR cloud or on-premises?

N-able Managed EDR is cloud-hosted; there is no on-premises version.

### Is N-able Managed EDR the same as N-able's Adlumin MDR service?

No, N-able Managed EDR and N-able's Adlumin-branded MDR service are two separate offerings sold side by side. N-able Managed EDR is a 24/7 SOC service wrapped around N-able's own EDR agent, delivered through N-central or N-sight, and predates N-able's November 2024 acquisition of Adlumin. The Adlumin line is a broader XDR, SIEM and identity threat detection platform; MSPs should ask N-able directly which one a quote is for, since the naming overlaps.

### How much does N-able Managed EDR cost?

N-able does not publish pricing for Managed EDR (checked September 2026). The product page routes to a sales conversation or a demo booking rather than a price list or self-service trial, so an MSP needs to request a quote to get per-endpoint figures and contract terms.

### Does N-able Managed EDR work without N-central or N-sight?

N-able Managed EDR is delivered as a managed add-on to N-able's own EDR agent, which runs through N-able's N-central and N-sight platforms, and is not marketed as a standalone service for a different RMM or a mixed-vendor endpoint estate. MSPs already running N-central or N-sight get the most direct fit, since alerts and containment actions surface in the same console they already use.

### What operating systems does N-able Managed EDR cover?

N-able states that the underlying EDR agent behind Managed EDR covers Windows, macOS and Linux endpoints. The agent is built on SentinelOne technology, and N-able cites MITRE evaluation results for its detection coverage across those operating systems.

### Does N-able Managed EDR include threat hunting?

Yes, but only on N-able's top EDR Complete licence tier, where proactive threat hunting for current threats is included alongside the core 24/7 monitoring, triage and response. Lower licence tiers get the managed monitoring and response without the added threat hunting, so MSPs should confirm which licence a quote covers.
